Print Directly from Excel Web App

Print Directly from Excel Web App

Picture this: You’ve just gotten off a plane, late for an important meeting, when you realize that you left printouts of a key spreadsheet back in your office. Thank goodness for SkyDrive. You can get to your spreadsheet from any web-enabled computer. And now thanks to a recent upgrade, you can print to your heart’s content, directly from the Excel Web App.

As you might expect, you can choose to print the entire spreadsheet, or just the current selection (see Figure 5). The Excel Web App will build a print page that you can send to an available printer.

Figure 5 The print page for the current selection is shown in the Excel Web App.

What’s Next

This article is the first in a multi-part series that focuses on updates to the Excel Web App. The second installment, “Excel Web Improvements, Part 2,” covers some of the more advanced functionality, such as using the AutoSum function, enabling formula assistance, and the ability to embed workbooks in websites and blogs.
