If you enjoy using your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 to take photos, Eric Butow, author of My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, will show you how use the pre-installed Gallery app to create a slideshow of photos in an album.

The Gallery app on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 makes it easy for you to share the device with others to show photos stored on the Tab 4. What’s more, the people you share the device with don’t have to know how to use the Gallery app to view your photos. All you need to do is create a slideshow in Gallery, and after you start the slideshow, you can hand it to the other person so that he can enjoy it. You can share selected photos within an album, photos in several albums, or an entire album.

Start by swiping to the second Home page and then tapping Gallery in the Home page, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1

Figure 1 The Gallery icon appears second from the left in the row of icons near the bottom of the screen.

In the Albums screen, tap the album tile that contains the photos you want to share. When you see the photos within the album, tap and hold on the photo until you see the check mark in the upper-right corner of the photo tile, as shown in Figure 2.

Figure 2 A green check mark appears in the check box within the selected photo tile.

Tap each photo tile that you want to select. As you select each photo, the Selected box at the left side of the black menu bar tells you how many photos you’ve selected. (The black menu bar is at the top of the screen.) You can also add photos from another album by tapping the album tile within the gray vertical album bar at the left side of the screen and then selecting photos within that album. After you select all your photos, tap the Menu button on the menu bar, as shown in Figure 3, and then tap Slideshow in the menu.

Add a Slide Transition Effect

The Slideshow window appears and displays the options within the Effect tab, as shown in Figure 4. The effects take place when you transition to another photo within the slideshow. You can select one of the other seven options by tapping on the option in the list.

Unfortunately, you can’t view the effect until you start the slideshow by tapping the Start button in the window. For now, let’s explore options in the other two window tabs.
