Laurie Rowell is a freelance technical writer and instructional designer who has worked for Microsoft, IBM, Xerox, Boeing, and Siemens (among others), busily creating software and hardware user guides, technical references, quick-reference cards, job aids, web content, and learning modules since she dropped into technology many more years back than she feels comfortable discussing. Periodically she teaches communications or technical writing classes. Along the way she has made time to shoot video professionally and write fiction, although she is still awaiting her first six-figure check. She lives in Issaquah, Washington, where she and her husband, Alec, grow an excellent garden of flowers, vegetables, and herbs, ably assisted by their daughter, Linden, and their "mostly Lab" dog, Friday.
