When an event begins with famed Miami Dophins football player Dan Marino stopping by the book to read and take home a copy of My iPad for Seniors, you know it's going to be a good time!
We just returned from another AARP event, this time aptly named Ideas@50+, and it was a wonderful experience. From Marino's presence to our flashy light-up pens being featured on the front page of the U-T San Diego newspaper, we can chalk up our San Diego AARP event as a great success. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with all of the great AARP members who stopped by our booth, and catching up with attendees who we've met at previous shows.
Two of our esteemed editors spoke on stage with their well-attended presentation, Top 10 Things You Can Do with Your Apple or Android Smartphone or Tablet. The editors used their combined 35-plus hears of technology publishing experience to offer easy-to-use tips and tricks. After the presentation, we had many visitors to our booth to ask specific questions, talk more with the editors, and purchase the products the editors had helped produce.
New this year was our inclusion in the AARP TEK scavenger hung, in which we happily participated. We were the last stop on the scavenger hunt, giving attendees the chance to win an AARP RealPad tablet.
Overall, the best-selling products were those from our popular "My for Seniors" series, which inspires us to continue churning out these fantastic resources. Be sure to check out My Samsung Galaxy S5 for Seniors, now available for pre-order, and keep checking back for My iPhone for Seniors, coming very soon.
The next AARP National event will take place in Miami in May, 2014. Will you be there?
