Adding Private Mode to the Quick Setting Buttons

Opening Settings to enable or disable Private Mode is time consuming. If you want to accomplish this the easy way, you can add an icon for it in the Notification panel's Quick Setting buttons.

  1. Open the Notification panel and tap the Grid icon in the upper-right corner (see Figure 10).

  2. Tap the Edit icon (see Figure 11).

  3. Drag the Private Mode icon from the Available Buttons section onto the icon in the Active Buttons section that you want to replace (see Figure 12).

After making this minor modification, you can enable Private Mode by opening the Notification panel, scrolling the Quick Setting buttons until you see Private Mode, tapping its icon, and then performing your unlock procedure. (When Private Mode is active, its Quick Setting icon is green.) To quickly disable Private Mode, tap the Private Mode icon again (see Figure 13). Alternatively, you can tap the Private Mode notification and then drag the Private Mode slider to the Off position.
